Hi! I've been busy this weekend updating this website. There are some cool changes I wanted to share. In between obsessive bouts of
pinning (Pinterest is the new Facebook/time-waster), I changed some things.
- Look & Feel. My inner knitter is embracing peace and simplicity. As much as I love knitterly puns and wordplays, scrolling boxes of colorful books, and tiled macro shots of yarn (And believe me. I do.), maintaining all my cute little aliases around the web grew complicated, and this site was looking way too busy. Sara Kay Hartmann Designs is about as clear as it gets. I realize that my url may eventually be troublesome, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
- Pattern Purchasing. You are now able to purchase patterns directly from my website via PayPal. Simply go to the The Pattern Shop tab, click on the name of the pattern you'd like to see, and then click the Buy Now button. Ravelry is the check-out service employed on the site if anyone is curious. You do not need a Ravelry account in order to check out.
- Going Ad-free. I was experimenting with Google Ads for some time, and have decided against the whole blog-for-ads thing. It's just too much. And it's annoying, isn't it? Not always, but often I find ads annoying. And I'm not much of a blogger--in fact, I'm one of those people who isn't sure what to say on the first day of a class when everyone goes around the room and "shares something about themselves." I need this site to be a home and hub for the patterns I share for free and for sale. And for the occasional chit-chat about projects or sharing swatches. I find that a good blog is often photo-driven, and I never seem to remember the camera. As it is you have to look at an outdated photo of my parents' dog and me just to have a compelling reason to finish reading this post.
- Social Networking. You can find me on Ravelry, Facebook and Etsy by clicking the appropriate link in my sidebar. Wait, did I seriously not add Pinterest? *fixing now*
Enjoy what's left of the weekend! Here's the promised old photo of Willy a.k.a. Dr. Woozeman and me.
